Myopia is increasing in prevalence worldwide and is expected to affect up to 50% of the global population by 2050. Myopia increases the risk of open-angle glaucoma, retinal detachment, and myopic macular degeneration so controlling its progression may help preserve vision in old age.
MCVI clinic offers a variety of management options that have been shown through research studies to reduce or slow down the progression or worsening of myopia, especially in children. These include special types of spectacle lenses (glasses), contact lenses, Orthokeratology and atropine eye drops.
Myopia control also involves the study of lifestyle and environmental factors which can trigger myopia progression. Considering your child’s time spent outdoors and indoors, screen time are also important factors in managing myopia.
At MCVI, we perform tests specific to myopia development and recommend individualised treatment options. The extra clinical care is provided that is required for children and adults with myopia and the power has been controlled significantly in many children. WE HAVE COUNSELLING SESSIONS TOO. Our true reward is our many of the happy and satisfied parents and the children who have better vision now with slower progression.
Prof. Monica Chaudhry is one of the pioneers in myopia management since 2017 in India with many success stories.

MCVI clinic had the honour to welcome Shefali Miglani, O.D. Optometrist & Owner of Monroe Eye Care, Monroe, New Jersey, United States.
Shefali's reviews on her visit to MCVI clinic and meet Monica Chaudhry, Director, MCVI :
"Recently had the opportunity to visit a myopia and dry eye practitioner in India, and I was amazed by the experience of Prof Monica Chaudhry. She graciously welcomed me into her clinic, where we exchanged valuable insights and knowledge.
It was fascinating to discover the similarities in our approaches to treating myopia and dry eye conditions. Despite Dr. Chaudhry being at the forefront of technology and scientific advancements, there remains a significant demand for experts in myopia and dry eye treatments in the region.
She asked me to see a patient of hers and I felt privileged to be able to serve. We shared ideas and determined a plan for this very nice patient suffering from extreme dryness. The patient was happy and we were happier!
I wish Dr. Monica Chaudhry continued success in her endeavors and look forward to serving the Indian population any which way I can."
